2017 Hyundai Elantra – Redesign, Review, Release Date

The brand new 2017 Hyundai Elantra has made its debut at the 2015 Los Angeles auto show. This time, it is bringing numerous changes and upgrades.

Exterior design and improvements

Like we have already said, new 2017 Hyundai Elantra will bring many improvements. We can expect nice design, modern safety features, higher gas mileage, more comfort inside and smoother ride. New Elantra represents the six generation model. So, we will see new powertrains under the hood as well. It will also show some changes considering its dimensions. It will be longer for 0.8 inches, 0.4 inch lower and wider for an inch. When it comes to exterior, it will be refreshed and will look even more handsome. The first thing we’ll notice will be revised front fascia. It will feature a hexagonal and wider grille and new boomerang-shaped LED running lights. The rear end will get narrow LED tail lamps. The whole body design is now simpler but very attractive which fans will definitively adore.

The interior of 2017 Hyundai Elantra will be upgraded with new materials and some new features. The cabin features horizontal themes with metallic accents. Automaker has put a lot of effort to make the cabin much quieter now. It will be offered with heated and ventilated seats. As for the equipment, Elantra will be available with automatic climate control, satellite radio, premium audio system, USB, Bluetooth, a new navigation system etc. As for the safety, it will be provided with many features. Those are seven airbags, a rearview camera, lane-departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors and so on.

2017 Hyundai Elantra will come with two types of engines. The standard Elantra will use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine will be able to make 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Its fuel efficiency is rated at 29 mpg in the city, 38 mpg on the highway, and 33 mpg combined. Eco model will use a 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. It is rated at 128 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque. This engine will be coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Its fuel economy is rated at 35 mpg combined.

Release date and price

2017 Hyundai Elantra will hit the market in very near future. When it comes to pricing, it is estimated to be around $18,000 for the base model.
