New, improved and redesigned 2017 Honda Civic Type R will be able to compete with its main rivals: Ford Focus ST and Volkswagen Golf GTI. This new model will feature many upgrades both inside and out. When it comes to exterior, new Honda won’t differ much from the current model. However, its design is more aggressive now. We will notice changes all over the body. The front and rear end of the vehicle will feature some refreshments. The front fascia will get stylish grille, larger intake vents, and a pair of attractive LED headlamps. The rear end of the vehicle will be lower now. It will feature a revised spoiler and three exhaust pipes. Also, the rear doors will get a new design.
Inside, 2017 Honda Civic Type R will be revamped as well. It will be upgraded with quality materials and technology. The sporty black cabin will receive some red accents. The sporty seats will be comfortable. The second row seats can be folded if needed. The cargo space will be sufficiently ample. As for the equipment, new Honda will get more tech features for higher level of safety.
Engine and performance
2017 Honda Civic Type R will be more powerful than its forerunner. It will be powered with a 2.0-liter four cylinder turbocharged engine with direct injection. This engine will be able to deliver 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It will be coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. Its top speed will be 155 mph. It will be able to reach 60 mph in around 5 seconds which is great. Some claim that it will also be offered with a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine, but it is not yet confirmed.
Release date and price
It is still unknown when exactly Honda Civic Type R will hit the market. We can expect it to be sometime during 2017. As for the price, some sourses say that it should be around $46,000.
