Volkswagen Automaker is revealing the second generation of its well known smaller crossover. It is 2016 VW Tiguan which will appear with many improvements.

New 2016 VW Tiguan will ride on VW’s MQB platform which is used in VW’s latest models. So the new Tiguan will be a bit longer than its forerunner. What costumers will like about this car is its spacious interior and dynamic handling. It will be improved inside, with new tech features and better materials. Its performance will be improved as well. It will be offered in following trim levels: S, R-line, SE and SEL models. When it comes to exterior design, it will stay true to its well known conservative design. However, it will be slightly refreshed. The body will get sharper look. The front end will be more handsome with revised grille and new daytime running lamps. It will also ride on new 16-inch wheels.
Design of interior and technology
The interior of 2016 VW Tiguan will be also redesigned and improved with quality and nice materials and new features. The cabin is simple and spacious. It is able to welcome five passengers in two rows of comfortable seats. There is plenty of head room and sufficient cargo space. The second row can fold if needed. The front are supportive and with great driving position. The seats are upholstered in quality leather. As for the equipment, it comes standard with an AM/FM/CD player with eight speakers, Bluetooth, cruise control, power locks, windows and mirrors, a rearview camera etc. Higher trim levels will also get a 6.3-inch touch screen, 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof and so on.
Engine and performance
2016 VW Tiguan will be powered with a 2.0-liter four cylinder turbocharged engine. It will be able to deliver 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox. It will be available with front-wheel drive. However, it will also be offered with AWD. Estimated fuel economy with FWD is 21/26 mpg in the city/highway drive. With AWD, it is rated at 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
Release date and price
2016 VW Tiguan should hit the market in late 2015 or in early 2016. Its starting price is estimated to be around $25,000.
