Japanese company will soon present us its new 2016 Honda Pilot. It will get unique design, improved interior, new features and better fuel consumption.
Changes and exterior design
2016 Honda Pilot will represent the third generation of this model. It will show many improvements compared to the previous model. First of all, new Honda will ride on new platform shared with latest MDX model. It will be longer than before for around 1.7 inches. Despite its increased size, this crossover will undergo weight reduction. It will be lighter for around 300 pounds. This will improve fuel efficiency and performance as well. When it comes to exterior, it will be redesigned and will get softer lines. It will look more rounded and generally more modern. Still, it will keep its traditional, boxy appearance. On the front end, we will notice redesigned grille and narrow headlamps equipped with LED lighting. The front bumper will be larger as well. It will get new 20-inch wheels. With its new design and improvements, it will definitively be very popular worldwide, especially among families since it is spacious and durable.
One of the mayor changes, considering 2016 Honda Pilot, is its new and luxurious interior. The cabin is able to accommodate even eight passengers, in three rows of seats. The second row is split which eases the access to the third row. It will be more spacious than before because the new model is larger like we’ve already mentioned. On the center of the dash is placed a large, eight-inch touch screen display. New Honda will get latest safety and infotainment features. Some of them are navigation system, five USP ports, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning and many others.
2016 Honda Pilot powertrain and transmission
Under the hood of 2016 Honda Pilot will be placed a new engine. It is a 3.5-liter V6 engine with direct injection. It can deliver up to 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be paired with a six-speed or a nine-speed automatic gearbox. As for the drivetrain, it will appear with rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive will be optional.
Release date and price
Speaking of the release date, 2016 Honda Pilot should go on sale in late 2015, or perhaps in early 2016. As for the price, it should be in a range from $31,000-$43,000 which will depend on equipment.
