The next generation of Ford’s popular and attractive SUV is ready to debut. It was eagerly expected by many and it is a 2016 Ford Escape.

2016 Ford Escape has always been popular worldwide, especially among families because of its reliability and durability. New model will keep that reputation and it will appear improved and refreshed. It will be underpinned with Ford’s Global C platform. As far as the exterior design is concerned, it will keep its well-known look. However, the whole body will be more aerodynamic and with modern lines. On the front part, we can expect redesigned and larger grille and revised bumper. The headlamps will be revamped and equipped with LED lighting which will provide better visibility. On the rear end, we will notice dual exhaust pipes made of chrome and LED taillights. The roof will be narrow and new Ford will get new aluminum wheels too. It should get some new exterior colors as well.

Speaking of the interior, 2016 Ford Escape will get some new features and will be slightly redesigned. It will be able to place five passengers in two rows of seats. According to some rumors, it could be offered with a third row as well, but it is not confirmed. The cabin will be spacious and very comfortable.  It will be provided with many safety features such as airbags, ABS, rearview camera, traction control etc. It will also get a modern audio system, Bluetooth, navigation system, USB and many others more.

Types of engine and horsepower

2016 Ford Escape will be powered with several types of engine. The one option will be a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine. It will be able to make 168 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. The second is a 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine with the output of 240 horsepower and 270 pound feet of torque. The last option is a 1.6-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine. It will be capable of producing 178 horsepower and 184 pound feet of torque. All the engines should be mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. It will appear with front- and all-wheel drive.

Release date and price

2016 Ford Escape should hit the market in late 2015 or in early 2016. Its price should be similar to the current model, and we expect it to be in a range from $25,000-$34,000.
